Introduction
Tim Driver was a former student who became coaching colleague, teaching partner and friend. Tim tragically died at the age of 45 and it was a loss I still feel. He had a gift and a heart for the underdog and the "at risk". His humor, perspective and wisdom influenced everyone he came in contact with.
The Field Marshal Personality
When I was in a grad level psychology class, one of the exercises we had to do was to take the Meyers Briggs personality assessment; and from that construct our leadership style and "blueprint" for how we make decisions. (As counselors begin to take notes on Tim…) I was the "lucky" one who came out ENTJ, which has the nickname "Field Marshal." The title itself is rather scary, and I made the dreaded mistake of sharing that categorization with my sister, who now constantly envisions me in a tank with goggles and a riding crop, looking to run over fluffy bunnies at every opportunity. From that day forward, every time I make a decision that she found "logic based", she reminds me it is because I am a field marshal.
