Introduction
There are some common traits in consistently successful programs, one of which is the positive traditions they have intentionally instituted to celebrate each part of their season. This booklet is a follow-up to a book I wrote several years ago entitled 101 Positive Athletic Traditions. At the end of that book, I asked readers who had other traditions they would be willing to share to write to me. This is a compilation of the best of the traditions I have received from coaches, athletic directors, and athletes from around the country. Hopefully they will be adjustable for coaches and teams to use regardless of sport or age.
Positive traditions exist to bond teammates and coaches, to reward behaviors that will make you a better team, to support your core covenants, and to have fun.
